A description of our competitive training teams, general info and expectations are below.
New to DCS? An evaluation with our coaching staff is required prior to registering. Training teams are assigned during your team evaluation.
BRONZE TEAM
4 - 12 years old
Beginners, new to swimming.
Able to swim 25 yards freestyle, backstroke, and kicking with a kickboard.
Training objectives: Learn the fundamentals and techniques of stroke. Develop the endurance necessary to integrate into other training groups.
Swimmers are expected to participate in all home meets.

SILVER TEAM
13 years old & Under
Novice swimmers.
Training objectives: Develop competitive swimming techniques.
Swimmers should participate in all home meets and some USAS meets, with the coach's approval.

15 years old & Under
Intermediate swimmers.
Proficient in all strokes.
Training objectives: Work to perfect competitive swimming techniques. Build endurance in and learn the drills associated with the 4 competitive strokes.
Swimmers should participate in all home meets and USAS meets.

13 years old & Over
This group is for swimmers who are looking for year-round training to complement their high school swim seasons without the time commitment of the competitive team.
Training objectives: Continuous improvement of technique. Develop proficiency, build endurance, and learn the drills associated with the 4 competitive strokes.
Swimmers can participate but are not required to compete in all home meets, or USAS swim meets.
