Who We Are

DCS is Direct Current Swimming

Swimming: A sport for life and a skill that can save lives!

At DCS, we offer a year-round competitive
swim team, learn-to-swim programming for adults and children, and advanced swim training for adults. Our highly trained and experienced coaching staff has instructed swimmers new to the water as well as developed State, Zone and NCAA Champions -- in addition to Olympic Trial Qualifiers!

We believe that the water promotes physical and emotional wellness. Skills. Confidence. Safety. Accomplishment. Fun. We welcome and encourage new and seasoned swimmers and their families to join our programs throughout the year!

We have two locations: DCS Douglasville at Boundary Waters Aquatic Center, and DCS Kennesaw at Jim Owens Pool.

Our STORY

DCS began as the Douglasville Stingrays, a small, independent, summer-league only swim club in 1997. Practicing in an outdoor, city pool at Hunter Park, the team grew! And with the organization and support of parents and swimming enthusiasts, the team moved to a new indoor facility built by Douglas County in 2004, the Boundary Waters Aquatic Center. The club was renamed the Douglas County Stingrays and continued its evolution to become best known as simply, "DCS".

Today, the moniker "DCS" represents a broader name, Direct Current Swimming, and the program has expanded to two locations, Douglasville and Kennesaw. DCS trains over 250 swimmers annually of all ages and abilities! DCS swim team is a competitive, year-round, USA Swimming team that competes at local, state, regional and national levels.
